I think that is absolute rubbish myself I think as a World Cup it was the best.

Things are getting closer and closer between the top tier and lower which makes for far more competitive rugby.

You want the days of 100+ difference points? Boring...

Re: THE OFFICIAL 2015 RUGBY WORLD CUP THREAD
It wasn't a great WC to be honest, despite what some of the pundits are saying.
It can't be if the best game was Japan v South Africa.
I enjoyed that game immensely but it goes to show that there weren't that many great games.
The main reason for that was England being knocked out early. The intensity and hype if England went further would have had a knock on effect..

I for one hope Eddie Jones does not get the job.
Having lived in OZ for ten years I remember the contempt he had for English rugby and England.
There was also a lot of various antics behind the scenes which would not bode well.
Wrong choice just because he beat an aged SA.

Re: THE OFFICIAL 2015 RUGBY WORLD CUP THREAD
Absolute shameful treatment of Burgess by the broadsheets, Stephen Jones and Stuart Barnes in the Sunday Times were criticising him all the time. They overlooked how important he was in the Wales game and can't seem to see that it takes a shit load of men to tackle him but he can off-load before he is grounded to set up a much quicker phase of play, instead of that usual slow shit we get.

He's the perfect man for the job. One thing you can guarantee, they'd always be "the best prepared team to leave these shores".

Whether they'd be any good at rugby though....

See ya Stu.

Who's next?

World Rugby Coach of the Year (no joke) Michael Cheika?

Warren G?

International coaching mercenary Eddie Jones?

Nick "failed most places" Mallet?

Jake White?

Personally, I think Clive Woodward should put his money where his mouth is and decide to run the show again officially.

You can add Chev Walker and Joel Tomkins, although I thought Joel just needed a bit more time as he was coming along ok.

Kyle Eastmond is a cracking rugby player he just needs a Coach to put some faith in him

Thought Barry-Jon Mather did ok as well

Of course there is Chris Ashton who sadly disappeared up his own arse

Re: THE OFFICIAL 2015 RUGBY WORLD CUP THREAD
Even if England had stuck 30-points on New Zealand in the Final (you feel stupid even writing that) and Sam Burgess had scored 4 try’s I think he would be on his way back to South Sydney, he’s had a go at Union and just doesn’t fancy it. That is fine, that is his choice.

The way he has been handled has given him the perfect excuse to get out, and you can’t blame him for using it if really doesn’t want to play.

A shame, never mind, he could have been an absolute beast of a player.

I bet Luther Burrell is pissed off – and Bath as they lost a real prospect at wing-forward to a French club when Sam Burgess joined

Joel Tompkins and Barry-Jon Mather are two other experiments that failed
